Carmela Iatropoulou

Carmela lives and works on Angelou St. in Chania, Crete,
a city famous for it's Venetian influence and water front
promenade. Carmela's work has been the focus of many magazine
and newspaper articles in Greece.
She has been one of Greece's most sought after contemporary
ceramists throughout her 22-year career. For many of her
works she uses an ancient Greek technique to fire her ceramics,
painting them first with natural colors from the ground
then baking the ceramics outside on a bed of wood.Carmela
also designs jewelry sold in her shop that is nothing less
than irresistible!
