Yalogenia
One of the first companies in Greece to produce contemporary
artistic designs using glass was Yalogenia. Still a leader
in their trade after 8 years and continuing to maintain
their originality, Yalogenia has built a strong foundation
in the Greek market and abroad. Owners, Dimitri and Alkisti
are the creative duo responsible for the continued demand
and positive reviews Yalogenia has earned. The two specialize
in blown glass, glass casting, and glass fusion. Their wide
range of products includes imaginative lighting, thematic
tableware, colorful vases, and larger pieces used to dress
up walls, tabletops, and doors.
Their colorful collections are all handcrafted one by one.
They meticulously detail each with the appropriate decorations
and fine-tune the colors to magnificent attractions, like
luminous scarlet red and icy turquoise. Dimitri and Alkisti
add delicate accents to their work using small bits of colored
glass, hand cut images in bronze, and metal mesh. Special
orders are also embellished using real silver and gold.
While visiting the factory in Athens, I was allowed to
make design my own work of glass art to better understand
the process in which the glass was produced. Needless to
say, creating amazing glass is much more difficult than
it looks! It was also obvious that each piece needed personal
attention and despite the large production, tending to the
pieces by hand resulted in a unique work of art in each
one!

Look for their logo always placed in the bottom left corner
of their glass. I have found the art of Yalogenia among
the most impressive coming from Greece. Make sure you get
a piece for yourself while in Greece or contact them for
